I really appreciate the artistic direction Nintendo is taking with New Super Mario Bros. U. It’s bright, colorful, and reminiscent of previous installments in the franchise but doesn’t skimp on textures or smaller details. The backgrounds have actual depth to them and everything looks really nice and clean!
New Super Mario Bros. Wii had really uninspired world design (the platforming was excellent though) and the textures looked almost embarrassingly bad at times. It’s good to see that the next game will be a bit more polished!
