It is a simple concept.

I am not asking you to agree with me, please do not ask me to agree with you. If there are ideas and interests between our fantasies and thoughts that agree or coincide, then great! Perhaps we can be friends. If there are things that clash between our personal fandoms, that is too bad, and we can go our seperate ways.

We can share ideas. We can state opinions. We can offer thoughts.

I am not asking that we stop debating. That takes the fun out of it. It narrows our views and understandings and gives us no chance to grow and expand.

This applies to anything, be it fandom, fantasy, reality, life.

I am just saying that if we are to debate our interests, we should do so civily. I know, I know, to ask such a thing of the internet is most likely foolish beyond all belief, but at the same time, I do not feel it is too high a standard to set.

I have opinions, you do too. That’s fine.

But if someone questions your theories and ideas, there is no reason to become a feral, foaming-at-the-mouth/keyboard lunatic who raves at and attempts to degrade the person who upset them.

Sometimes I wonder why I bother.

This is the internet, after all.
