more yugioh feelings, as expected. i’ve talked about this before, but this is a really great scene from the final battle that got left out of the dub, which is fine i guess because it goes on to talk about the underworld. i mean, the dub essentially avoids the whole THE PHARAOH IS GOING TO DIE/IS ALREADY DEAD thing and they avoid it pretty well. but the original never does that. 

basically here, yugi beats osiris the sky dragon — he puts a card in the golden sarcophagus and, if the pharaoh plays the same card, the attack is negated. the pharaoh plays monster reborn to bring back osiris, which is what yugi knew he’d do (YEP YEP YEP YEP /dead). yugi beats the dragon.

now ishizu has this great line here where she basically says that, hey, this is a message from yugi to his other self: that the souls of the dead shouldn’t linger. because yugi wouldn’t allow the monster to be resurrected, he also won’t allow the pharaoh’s spirit to stay.

and that is why this show is the greatest ever.
